The winged Greek Goddess of Victory

Nike was in ancient Greek religion the goddess of victory. She was the daughter of the giant Pallas and of the infernal River Styx.

The company was founded on 1964 as “Blue Ribbon Sports” and officially became Nike, Inc. 1971. 

NIKE takes its name from Nike, the Greek goddess of victory.
